Surely you aren't suggesting porn stars are real people?

A local headline runs  "Porn Star Got Free Tix To KU-KSU Game"

Given the fact that it was a news story, I expected to see pictures of said adult film star running naked through the crowd or otherwise behaving as a newsworthy story.

But no.

Turns out the actress, one Samantha Ryan, pretty much just went to the basketball game.  While there, she engaged in typical spectator behavior, such as: watching the game, having her picture taken with the mascot, and taking cell phone pictures of the basketball court from her seat.

And when she was done, she used Twitter and thanked the assistant b-ball coach for helping her get the tickets.  She's a former KU student and the game aligned with her birthday.

So, what's the story here?  "Woman attends basketball game for free"?  Pretty much, but with the addition of some *sex sells* mentality.  See, the new headline is "sex woman attends basketball game for free".  People seem to feel like this should be a story somehow, but don't quite know how to get it there.  Did she trade sexual favors for the tickets?  Surely she MUST have, since she's a porn star and thus constantly has sex wherever she goes, for any reason.  ("Would you like to try a free sample of our new frappimochachino?"  "Of course, just let me get my jeans off.")

The University of Kansas has declared that they are "investigating" the "incident".  I look forward to Mr. Sherlock Holmes' after-action report.

I realize that I'm living in the Bible Belt and that women who have jobs and like sex are inherently to be mistrusted, but I just don't think this is news.  The above picture is apparently from the lady's Twitter feed and you can clearly see that she is quite conservatively dressed compared to the skin-showing harlot in the background!  Where's the moral outrage against that brazen Jezebel?  Won't someone please think of the children who could see that flesh-monger flaunt her naughty bits for all to see?

A "cheerleader" indeed!  That floozy is more of a ... umm...  impure-thoughts-leader.
